In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he has been conferred the Honorary rank of 'Brigadier' in the Army Dental Corps. He is also Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Baba Farid University, Punjab. He is an Adjunct Professor to Boston and Tuffs University. He has been awarded fellowship of Royal College of Dental Surgeons of England. He is the Chairman of Education Committee, Asia Pacific Dental Congress (APDC) and a member of the Education Committee of Fédération Dentaire Internationale (FDI). He has to his credit 10 honorary PhD / DSc degrees from various national and international universities.
