Mastering AP Physics 1 Book Description :

According to the 2018 statistics published by the College Board, the pass rate on the AP Physics 1 exam is the lowest of any AP exam. Only 40.6% of the students pass the exam and only 5.7% of the students get a 5. A lot of students who don't pass the exam are often A students who understand physics, but the plug-n-chug type of problems they see in class do not prepare them for the AP Physics 1 free response questions. For the last eight years, the majority of students I tutored for the AP Physics test obtained a score between 3 and 5. My secret is simple: I do rapid content review but more importantly, I walk students through the process of answering free response questions. The free response questions are unique; most AP physics courses and books will not properly prepare you for them. This book will teach you the patterns of the AP test by providing guided solutions to prior AP Physics 1 exams. Although short answers from the College Board are available online, they lack explanations and many students do not find them helpful. Additionally, this book also includes six original free response questions and a section devoted to rapid review of the testable material. Topics such as projectile motion, harmonics, inclined planes, etc., are often covered in one page with color-coded diagrams. Note we cannot republish the AP Exam questions, but you can download them directly from the pdf link that's provided. Problems are broken down into sections allowing you to identify which segments are relevant for you and which you may skip. Each solution includes: the conceptual understanding of the problem; a review of the relevant physics principles; help with identifying the correct equation; a review of the algebra; and a section which coaches you on how to frame your answer to maximize partial credit. This book is intended to be a supplement to your AP Physics 1 course and textbook; it is too condensed to prepare you for the exam by itself. If you are familiar with AP Physics,

Essentials of Human Anatomy Physiology Book Description :

Now in its Ninth Edition, Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology continues to set the standard for short-course A&P texts with an enhanced media package, an updated art program, and new "active learning" features that help allied health students better visualize and understand the structure and function of the human body. Elaine Marieb's clear and friendly writing style emphasizes the relevance of anatomy and physiology to students' lives and careers. It clarifies concepts, defines key terms, and offers just the right balance of anatomy, physiology, and clinical coverage to make the content complete without being overwhelming. While many authors merely condense a two-semester text to meet a one-semester need, Elaine Marieb wrote this book specifically for the one-semester course and continues to carefully select a range of material that proves just right for the shorter course. New information on hot topics like DNA fingerprinting, contraception, stem cell research, and obesity draws students into the material, while a flexible topic structure allows instructors to choose a chapter sequence to meet virtually any need. CourseSmart textbooks do not include any media or print supplements that come packaged with the bound book.

When to Jump Book Description :

“A lively and inspiring guidebook for anyone who wants to make the jump from normal to extraordinary.” —Tony Robbins, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Unshakeable and MONEY: Master the Game An inspirational book that lays out the “Jump Curve”—four steps to wholeheartedly pursuing the career of your dreams—through experiences from a variety of people who have jumped and never looked back When Mike Lewis was twenty-four and working in a prestigious corporate job, he eagerly wanted to leave and pursue his dream of becoming a professional squash player. But he had questions: When is the right time to move from work that is comfortable to a career you have only dared to dream of? How have other people made such a jump? What did they feel when making that jump—and afterward? Mike sought guidance from others who had “jumped,” and the responses he got—from a banker who started a brewery, a publicist who became a Bishop, a garbage collector who became a furniture designer, and on and on—were so clear-eyed and inspiring that Mike wanted to share what he had learned with others who might be helped by those stories. First, though, he started playing squash professionally. The right book at the right time, When to Jump offers more than forty heartening stories (from the founder of Bonobos, the author of The Big Short, the designer of the Lyft logo, the Humans of New York creator, and many more) and takeaways that will inspire, instruct, and reassure, including the ingenious four-phase Jump Curve.
