Baseball Is America Excerpt :

Americas Favorite Pastime with its foreign taproot evolved into the modern game. Baseball is traced in the 364-page book from its European origins plus much deeper sources. Cultural beginnings, including the rally monkey, hot dog, peanut and anthems provide historical perspective. The American spirit is captured through baseball, beating to the rhythm of the American culture, sometimes as its direction, but most times its reflection. The goodness of the game exists in both its players serving as role models for the youth, with the Yankee Clipper leading the charge, plus inducing positive progressive change highlighted by the 1947color barrier penetration by Jackie. Type and character makeup of leadership in America and baseball is positioned as integral to the cultural socialization process. Christian religious tenets previously employed in traditional America have been metaphorically Billy-Goated out of the field of play. An orchestrated reshaping from its Founding principles using education and media as hypnotic tools promoting secular-humanist ideals and values has fundamentally transformed America into a nation ripe for governance by the New World Order as One Global Family. The readers thought process is directed to answering the question as to what is the American way? The shear ugliness of baseball bore its soul to the American public during the Synthetic Era as characterized by serpentine-type Congressional hearings involving performance-enhancing-drug use. The author boldly declares America to be a nation on some sort of drug indifferent to toxic societal effects and meritocracy interference. Cultural issues including an intellectual history of PEDs, their affects on performance and leakage into the tributaries plus the evolution of the Promethean Project are well documented. Comparisons are made between the sins of Shoeless Joe and Charlie Hustle and the typical Synthetic Era ballplayer. Hazards of playing ball are probed by comparison to perceived dangers

Is America Exceptional Excerpt :

This book continues the saga of the progeny of the Marciari family, founded in Florence during the Renaissance, wandering through many European countries, losing contacts, but over time migrating to the new continent. Commencing as the Thirteen English Colonies in America are preparing to launch their struggle for independence from the mother country, the novel continues to present times a history of the United States. Told from the chronicles of family descendants, the reader becomes a part of the individual lives of those who created American Exceptionalism. Reflecting America, these "cousins" work closely with the titans of history. Through their records, we observe George Washington as he ponders the fate of the patriot troops at Valley Forge; experience the dangers of the unknown with the expedition of Lewis and Clark exploring the new lands obtained through the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon Bonaparte; or live through the long trek across the United States in a covered wagon to California during the Gold Rush. We participate in the meetings conducted by J. P. Morgan as he provides advice to President Cleveland in resolving the Panic of 1893, watch a cousin decline Teddy Roosevelt's invitation to join the Rough Riders; or become absorbed with Woodrow Wilson's problems with his Peace Plans. Suffer the agonies of loved ones killed in war, the depravations and anxieties of those with jobs eliminated and homes lost in the Great Depression and Dust storms of the nineteen thirties. The innovative new government generated administration and emulation. As the nation grew in size, population and wealth, it gained the appellation, exceptionalism, becoming the envy of the world. However, the challenges facing the new culture soon demonstrated the ugly features of human nature Confiscation of Native Americans lands Enslavement of millions of Africans Barriers to immigration Delays in providing assistance to nations beset by invasion Wide income gap between the wealthy an

Beautiful Is America Excerpt :

My passion and inspiration for writing Beautiful Is America was inspired by a young lady by the name of Dorothy Washington, who asked me to take her wedding pictures. This was a dream come true. During that time, I owned a Polaroid camera and was not prepared for taking pictures. Dorothy said it was all she could afford. This was the beginning of my photography career. I have been taking pictures from that day to the present. As I continued to pursue my dream, I decided that I would like to start a business in photography, and the name of the business would be L. K. Photography. I begin to take wedding pictures, school pictures, pictures at church conventions, and souvenir pictures. After working over forty years as a photographer, I retired from General Motors with thirty-four years of service. My wife retired from St. John Hospital after twenty-eight years of service. We moved to Powder Springs, Georgia, after retirement. Once again, I started a new business in Georgia and changed the name to L. K. Photoshop. My wife and I began to work with day care services. We had fourteen day-care clients. We retired five years later for the second and final time. God has blessed us in the past and continues to do so. We are very blessed to be able to travel and see beautiful scenery around the world. We have traveled to all fifty states, enjoying and taking pictures of rock formations, magnificent waterfalls, lighthouses, the US Presidential Library and Museums, and historic sites. It is a joy and our desire to share this book with family and friends and the people of this great country.
